Kindness Matters

In case you haven't read this on my vsco or my mom's Facebook ;)

Many recent events happening in my own life, and in the lives of people around me have really had an impact on me. First and foremost, kindness matters. Today people are constantly worried about appearance and being better than someone else, that is honesty so pointless. Who cares what he did this weekend or what she's wearing or who she took to lunch or what tweet he liked or anything else. That is not what matters. Our society is very highly based on social media, and a lot of it is not good. We should be using these platforms to encourage one another and to spread love and kindness to everyone around us, whether they are your best friend or a stranger. I cannot stress kindness enough, it is so important. You never have any idea what is going on in another persons life, you have no clue how their day is going so be kind. This is cliché, but seriously smiling or saying "hi" to someone who's having a rough day can completely turn their day around. Talk to the people around you, ask questions, build relationships because those are the important things in life, not how many likes your new selfie got on Instagram. Count your blessings, even when it feels like you have none, you are blessed. When you are at what feels like your lowest point, hold on. Things will get better and things will improve, stay strong. I am a firm believer of everything happening for that reason, and that reason is bigger than what you or I could ever imagine. As hard as it is, find what positivity could come from your hardships in life and embrace it. Always remember that you are not alone and that there are people there for you, even if you don't think so. I personally would be there for anyone who needed it, even if I didn't know the person. I know there is many people like me, so no you are never alone. Stay strong and hang in there no matter what is going on in your life at the moment. And most importantly, kindness matters. Throw kindness around like confetti.
